Release ImagePlayground-PowerShellModule.v3.2.7
Language: C# Updated: 2026-10-26
Command

Select-ImageConsoleStoryTab

Module
ImagePlayground
Inputs
None
Outputs
ImagePlayground.PowerShell.ImageConsoleStoryStep

Switches an ImagePlayground console story to a previously declared persistent tab.

Syntax

Select-ImageConsoleStoryTab
[-Id] <String>
[-TransitionSeconds <Double>]
[<CommonParameters>]
#
Parameter set: All Parameter Sets

Description

Selection is always an intentional timeline action. The target tab keeps its transcript, working directory, profile, and palette, so the story can pause on a ready session or continue writing exactly where that session stopped.

Examples

Return to the initial PowerShell tab

Select-ImageConsoleStoryTab -Id PowerShell
New-ImageConsoleStoryPause -Seconds 1.5
New-ImageConsoleStoryCommand -Text 'Get-ChildItem .\artifacts'

Returns to the retained PowerShell buffer, holds it in a ready state, then continues the same session.

Parameters

-Id String requiredposition: 0
Identifier of a tab declared earlier in the story. The initial tab is named main.
-TransitionSeconds Double optional
Duration of the visual switch to the selected tab.

Common Parameters

This command supports the common parameters: -Debug, -ErrorAction, -ErrorVariable, -InformationAction, -InformationVariable, -OutVariable, -OutBuffer, -PipelineVariable, -Verbose, -WarningAction, and -WarningVariable.

For more information, see about_CommonParameters.

Outputs

ImagePlayground.PowerShell.ImageConsoleStoryStep: Use the console story command, output, table, blank-line, pause, tab, and tab-selection cmdlets to create steps.
